WHAT: This is a promotion for buying miles from American Airlines. To take full advantage of this offer, one would have to buy 60,000 miles (90,000 with the bonus of 30,000 points) for roughly $1800. This is 2 cents per mile/point. If you were to use the 90,000 points for 3 round-trip USA/Canada flights, you would just break even in most cases. BUT if your thinking of taking a business-class award trip to Europe (100,000 miles needed), it is very-much worth it. The cost of this trip would be over $8000 but you would essentially be getting it for under $2000. This is where point-purchasing comes in handy.

KNOW: Travel hacking at its finest. BUT I would only buy points if my purpose was at mentioned above. Business-class flight to Europe (or overseas). Do your math first and then decide.

Expires: Feb 28, 2013. If this is not in the plans right now, no worries. These deals pop-up throughout the year!

WHAT: For those of you who have read about the $50 Expedia credits in the tutorials, DO NOT use a TD Credit card when booking the hotels. It automatically defaults to ExpediaforTD.ca which is not a part of the Best Price Guarantee.

KNOW: A Free Flyer member found this out and had to go through some trouble in getting a refund on the hotel and the $50 credit. It’s odd for sure but luckily, he has shared that with us.

NOTE: Not every deal will work for everyone. If it’s not a match, just delete it and wait for the next. Point accumulation works but it takes some time.

WHAT: For those who haven’t seen this deal in the tutorial section yet, it still remains my favorite card for quick points. They waive the first year fee and give you 15,000 points after spending just $500 in 3 months. Plus, you’ll get an extra 5000 point if I refer you. (please email me / reply to this message if you want me to refer you).

KNOW: This is an easy 15-20,000 points which you can then transfer to Aeroplan, preferably when they have their 30% bonus transfers sometime in the spring.

Expires: Unknown.

Link: If you want me to refer you, email me, and you will get 5,000 extra points. If you rather do it on your own, here is the link: http://tinyurl.com/ake3f2b
